Needlework was a favorite past time and a valued skill among the noble ladies during the Renaissance. Many samples of royal handiwork from this time period is exhibited in museums today. These sterling silver sewing aids have an ornate design etched into the outer surface and are actually pendants that can be hung on a chatelaine, ribbon or chain.

Another larger sterling silver needle case with fine etching that is round measuring 1/2" in diameter and measures 2 3/4" in length. This case does not have a bail for hanging.
